The MediGuard web site (the “Web Site”) is owned and controlled by iGuard, Inc. (“iGuard”). iGuard is strongly committed to protecting your privacy. You can navigate the majority of our site without giving us any personal information about yourself. The Personal Information We Receive

The only personal information about you that we receive, store and use is information that you directly provide on or through the MediGuard Web Site or that is entered into the MediGuard database via the web site of a third party that you have explicitly authorized to share information with us (a “Data Partner”). We receive personal information in several ways, which are described below:

If you choose to register with MediGuard to receive personalized alerts from us, including MediGuard Medication Safety Checks and MediGuard Safety Alerts, you will provide certain personal information. The personal information you will provide to us includes your email address, a portion of your zip or postal code, demographic information (such as your age, race/ethnicity and sex), the medications that you take, and medical conditions you may have.

    Each time you receive an automated Service email message, at the bottom of the email you will be provided with a link to cancel your registration if you so choose. Alternatively, you can simply send an email to support@mediguard.org to unsubscribe from Service emails or you can contact us using the details provided above.

    Visitors that consent through the Web Site to hear about research opportunities may be invited to participate in a voluntary survey. The information you voluntarily provide as part of the survey is anonymized so that no individual respondent is identifiable. However, where applicable, we may receive some identifying information from you solely for the purpose of mailing you compensation for your time in completing the survey. This identifying information is retained for accounting purposes as required by law

  2. We will also use any personal information that you provide to us when registering for a Service to maintain and administer your MediGuard account, but only to the extent required to deliver the Services requested by you.

The Way We Use Information

We may access information you have expressly and voluntarily provided to us or our Data Partners in order to provide you with the information, products and/or Services you request. If you contact us to request more information about MediGuard Services, your request and any details you provide, such as your name, telephone, email address, or medications will be shared with appropriate personnel to fulfill your request. With your consent, we may share the information you provide with healthcare professionals or research organizations to fulfill your request, such as the sharing of your contact information in connection with your willingness to participate in a clinical trial.

iGuard occasionally hires other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as Web Site technical support, mailing and delivery of prizes or rewards, and other services. If we provide personal information to such companies, we only provide the personal information they need to deliver the service. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
